Sam at 10-11 Months

It's Dad's fault again for not updating the blog for a while. Sam doesn't leave a lot of time for such things, unfortunately. He's too busy crawling at lightning speed, working on walking with help from furniture or people, and eating everything he can get his hands on, whether it's meant to be food or not. New developments also include starting to sign "more" and pointing at things with his index finger, playing the "so big" game, and turning the pages of his books. New adventures include going for his first bike ride, celebrating his first Easter, and making a trip to Washington, DC. His new favorite activities are "reading" books and dancing to music.

We are still working on first words -- there's lots of babbling but it's not clear if any sounds have consistent meaning yet. We're getting closer on walking -- Sam seems a little steadier on his feet, and can walk while holding on to someone with just one hand. But crawling seems to suit him just fine, so he's sticking with it as his main method of locomotion.

No updates on weight and height, except that he just seems to get bigger every day. He loves most foods -- maybe not peas so much -- and has tried almost everything by now except for nuts and chocolate. We are looking forward to his first birthday in a couple weeks, when Sam is sure to do some serious damage to a piece of cake.
