Sam checks in at 30 inches long (98th percentile), and 23 lbs 5 oz (75-90%), so he is still growing like a weed. He is a big eater -- loves his bananas, sweet potatoes, turkey, asparagus, apples, and so on. The big new discovery this month was cheese! Sam loves cheese in all forms. Nothing extraordinary about that, but good to know he's not an alien.Sam has a variety of new skills: he can stand in his crib, he can give high-fives (when he wants to), he can clap (sometimes), he can eat finger-foods by himself, he can lower himself to his knees from a standing position, and he can waive (kinda). And he now has two teeth!
It was kind of a boring month for new activities, and that's Mom and Dad's fault. We didn't go anywhere, instead we decided to wait out the winter here in Chicago. Sam did get to experience his first "spring forward" of daylight saving time, which was a bit of speed bump in the nap schedule and made Dad wonder why we change our clocks twice a year in the first place. Sam also got to celebrate a couple birthdays -- his Mom turned [redacted] years old, and his friend Caroline turned 1.
Sam also helped comfort Mom and Dad because they lost their dear friend Kim this week, after a two-year battle with leukemia. Sam never had a chance to meet Kim, but has already heard a bunch of stories, and he will hear a lot more. We will all miss Kim very much.
On to another month of adventure. The weather is finally warming up, so we are excited to get outside without wearing so many layers of snow gear. A few photos from this month are here. See you next month!
